Frequently Asked Questions
What are The Two Sacraments God Gives Us?
A sacrament is a sacred act instituted by God, in which God himself has joined his word of promise to a visible element. We believe there are two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
The Sacrament of Baptism Christ our Lord says in the last chapter of Matthew: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". (Matt. 28:19). The Sacrament of the Altar (the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion) The Lord's Supper has been at the very center of Christian worship since the earliest days of the church, and it's no different for us. This is with good reason, as it was with none other than this very act with which Christ instituted his new testament. Long before Christians were even able to own a copy of the scriptures, they were meeting to receive this gift of Christ's body and blood. We take Jesus at his word that in the bread and wine we are given the actual body and blood of Our Lord. We don't try to explain the how, but rather see this amazing gift, binding us as it were to him in the forgiveness offered in the words "given and shed for you". We practice closed communion. Those who are members of the Lutheran Church (LCMS) believe that in communion we are receiving is the actual body and blood of Our Lord, for the forgiveness of sins. Given the warnings attached to the misuse of the sacrament, we simply ask that you speak with our pastor. 1 Corinthians 11: 27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. can i or MY Child be baptized?
Pretty simple!
If you are attending our services, just speak with our pastor or an elder and let us know. Also, feel free to contact us and let us know of your interest. Our pastor will chat with you and schedule a time during one of our worship services. SPECIFICALLY Who can be baptized?
Anyone
Including infants! Just as Christ has loved the entire world, this promise is for the entire world. Can we have A sponsor?
Yes!
As has been a custom in the church for ages, we encourage you to have sponsors when baptizing infants. Discipleship is baptizing and teaching, and the role of raising children in the instruction of God's word is assigned to parents. Sponsors are there to assist in this instruction through the life of the child, so having sponsors of the same mind to support parents is always a great idea. |

Our Lord Jesus Christ instituted the Sacrament of the Altar with these words; "This is my body, given for you. This cup is my blood of the new testament, shed for you for the forgiveness of sins."
(Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14-20; 1Corinthians 11:23-25). The Lord's Supper is the true body and true blood of our Lord Jesus Christ under the bread and wine, instituted by Christ himself for us Christians to eat and to drink.
The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin. (1John 1:7; Matthew 26:26-29; Acts 20:28; Romans 5:9; Hebrews 9:14; Hebrews 12:24; 1Peter 1:18-19; Revelations 1:5; Revelation 7:14). And it is this very blood that he gives us in his Supper.
